As we delve into the second quarter of 2024, the Music and Podcasts category for Android apps has shown varied trends across the top players in the US market. This analysis, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides a glimpse into the downloads, revenue, and weekly active users for these leading applications.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts maintained its strong market presence with revenues peaking at $3.7M in late April before experiencing a dip to $2.1M in early June. Downloads saw a high of 1.8M in mid-May, while weekly active users reached a peak of 94.8K towards the end of May.

Shazam: Find Music & Concerts, an app without reported revenue, witnessed a steady download count with a minor decrease from 980K at the beginning of April to 760K by the end of June. Its weekly active user count saw a slight uptick, ending the quarter at 38.5K.

YouTube Music, provided by Google LLC, also operated with no reported revenue. Downloads for the app showed a downward trend from 591K to 349K over the quarter. However, weekly active users grew from 151.7K in early April to 169.1K in mid-June, before slightly receding to 167.5K.

Downloads had a high of 475K in early April and remained relatively stable, ending at 390K. Weekly active users peaked at 13.6K in mid-May, indicating a consistent user base.
